Campus police use 'Bias Response Teams' and 'Threat Assessments' to control students

According to the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE), at least 231 colleges and universities have created 'Bias Response Teams' or BRT's.

BRT's encourage nearly 3 MILLION students to anonymously report offensive free speech to administrators and campus police. Encouraging students and faculty to anonymously report one another for subversive or offensive speech is Un-American.

How is this any different than DHS"s "If You See Something, Say Something" spying program?
FIRE defines a bias reporting system as any system that provides:

•  A formal or explicit process for or solicitation of

• reports from students, faculty, staff, or the community

• concerning offensive conduct or speech that is protected by the First Amendment or principles of expressive or academic freedom.

No one knows how many BRT's exist

• 42% report speech to members of law enforcement or campus security officers, even though the teams deliberately solicit reports of a wide variety of non-criminal speech and activity.

• 12% of teams include at least one administrator dedicated to media relations, suggesting that part of the purpose of such teams is to deter and respond to controversies that might embarrass the institution.

• Fewer than a third of teams included faculty members, whose absence diminishes the likelihood that the team will have a meaningful understanding of academic freedom.

Schools and campus police use BRT's, 'Mental Health/Threat Assessments' and 'Campus Response Teams' to create detailed reports on every student.

According to FIRE, BRT's  keep details of student's “smoker status,” “shape,” and “intellectual perspective,” "political affiliation" etc.  (Click here to learn more about BRT's.)

 Police are giving everyone 'mental health assessments'

"Once at jail, anyone who is arrested will be screened for mental illness. The jail will send those results to judges to consider when setting bond. The county will also start using a risk assessment tool to arrive at an estimated level of danger and flight risk posed by each defendant." 

"Defendants' potential release from jail will hinge on mental health and public safety considerations, not just the criminal charges they face and a financial ability to pay bond."

Kids from kindergarten through college are given 'threat assessments'

"The Virginia Student Threat Assessment Guidelines (V-STAG) is a school-based manualized process designed to help school administrators, mental health staff, and law enforcement officers assess and respond to threat incidents involving students in kindergarten through 12th grade and prevent student violence."

According to a Secret Service article titled "Evaluating Risk For Targeted Violence In Schools: Comparing Risk Assessment, Threat Assessment and Other Approaches" every student is being PROFILED and given a risk assessment rating.

Colleges and universities also use 'Campus Safety Teams' to conduct student threat assessments.

"The creation of Campus Teams that identify and monitor students whose behaviors may be troubling is an opportunity to engage them sooner rather than later, so that they can receive needed referrals or other appropriate assistance and treatment."

Bias response and threat assessments will be used to force students to be compliant.
