Police state deniers are going to have a hard time explaining the new Secure app that lets anyone hire an armed off-duty police officer[s].
A press release announcing a new “on-demand private security app for individuals and businesses throughout Texas” boasts that members can book off-duty cops and security officers whenever they need one.
Secur, a new private security app, will deliver highly trained private protection officers, on demand and in person, to provide protection when it is needed most. Secur will initially launch in 2022 to serve the regions of Dallas, Houston, Austin, and San Antonio, with nationwide expansion plans to follow.
Soon Americans everywhere will be able to book off-duty police officers for any occasion.
Secur Officers are highly experienced private protection officers and off-duty police officers who have been trained in private security to deter crime and ensure a protected environment. All officers are highly vetted and have undergone rigorous FBI background checks.
Secur’s on demand booking options allows members to “request private security quickly and discreetly from your phone. A professional, trained Secur Officer will come to your location as soon as possible, calling you en route to assess the situation.”
Members can also pre-schedule an off-duty police officer to show up in uniform or in plainclothes.
Why would Americans need to have an armed off-duty police officer at their beck and call?
According to Secur, “you and your loved ones deserve professional protection,” and their ‘off-duty police officers jobs are to deescalate situations and protect you from harm.’
Trying to convince the public that they deserve armed off-duty police officer protection to protect them from harm would almost be laughable if it weren’t fraught with so much danger.
Secur Officers are armed, trained guards and off-duty police officers.
Secur’s claim that their off-duty police officers protect people from harm, ‘by taking preventative measures to ensure their safety’, ignores the fact that on-duty police officers kill over a thousand people annually.
But why worry about the facts when soon everyone, from jilted teen lovers to the elderly can call for an armed off-duty police officer to show up whenever they think they need ‘extra protection.’
Secur’s “When To Use” section, is basically a primer that encourages the public to use their imaginations to decide when and how they might need to hire an off-duty police officer.
Feeling unsafe about meeting new people? Don’t worry, just call Secur and have an off-duty police officer show up on demand. Feeling unsafe about a night out with friends going to a restaurant or club? You can call Secur and have an off-duty police officer show up to be your personal bodyguard.
Feeling unsafe about a flat tire or your car breaking down? Members can use Secur to call for an off-duty police officer to show up to ‘support you while waiting for assistance’.
Oddly or perhaps by design, Secur doesn’t mention neighbor disputes in their ‘when to use’ an off-duty police officer section.
Feeling unsafe about your neighbor not cutting their lawn or watering their grass during a water ban? Call Secur and have an off-duty police officer show up to intimidate your neighbor[s].
Secur also fails to mention how people could hire off-duty police officers to monitor minorities in their neighborhood[s].
Secur’s “individual and family” plans range from $15-$30 a month and includes things like access to private security (off-duty) officers on demand 24/7. Up to five family members can access private security (off-duty) officers on demand 24/7 for an extra $10 each person a month or a total of $150 a month.
Securs $600 lifetime family plan is a one time payment that gives a single person an hour of free protection before paying $35 a half hour for on-demand protection 24/7.
Members are billed $140.00 or two hours minimum to have an off-duty police officer show up on demand, regardless of which plan they choose.
Secur’s business section also encourages realtors, managers, tenants and more to hire on demand off-duty police officers for $50 a month.
Secur’s business model to allow the average person to hire off-duty rent-a-cops for any reason will not make people feel safer. Instead, it will have the opposite effect of allowing people and alt-right groups to hire off-duty cops to target minorities, neighbors and residences without fear of violating their rights.
